It passed on London Road in Thornton Heath at around 3:20 a.m. moment, Friday, January 2. 

Two guys with severe injuries that were neither life- hanging nor life- altering were hastened to the sanitarium. One of the motorists, a joe in his 50s, is being held at a police station after being detained on suspicion of driving under the influence. 

One of the persons transported to the sanitarium is the alternate man that was arrested. On dubitation of business offenses, he was taken into guardianship. 

According to business website Inrix, the busy Croydon road that passes through Norbury and Thornton Heath is completely closed from Wharfedale auditoriums to Headcorn Road. This enables professionals to conduct accident examinations. When the road will be renewed is unknown. 

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“Police were called to a report of a two-car collision on London Road, Thornton Heath at around 3.20am on Friday, January 2. Two men were taken to hospital and suffered serious, but not life-changing or life-threatening injuries.

A man in his 50s, the driver of one of the vehicles, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and remains in custody. Another man, aged in his 30s, was also arrested for traffic offences. He remains in hospital.

Enquiries are ongoing. If you have any dashcam footage or information that may assist, please contact police on 101, quoting CAD 727/02Jan.”
