Tooting, London – June 2026 — A familiar name from Tooting’s live music scene is heading to one of the UK’s biggest Irish music celebrations this summer. Bass player Trevor Emmett, who grew up in Tooting and made his name on the capital’s gig circuit in the 1990s, will take to the stage at the Fields of Éire Irish Music Festival with his band Thrifty Malone.
Now based in Gibraltar, Trevor remains closely connected to his South London roots, having spent years performing across London venues with cult favourites The Boogeymen during the height of the capital’s live music scene.

Thrifty Malone have been announced as part of this year’s Fields of Éire line-up, taking place at Newsham Park on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 June 2026. The band will perform on Saturday, joining a bill that includes major Irish acts such as Nathan Carter and The Whistlin’ Donkeys.
The festival has become a standout event in Liverpool’s cultural calendar, drawing thousands of fans each year and showcasing some of the biggest names in Irish and folk music.
Thrifty Malone, a four-piece with roots in Gibraltar, blend Irish, folk and country influences into a high-energy live show. The band have built a growing following across the UK and southern Europe, and have shared stages with respected artists including Richard Thompson and Eddi Reader. They have also collaborated with Steve Wickham of The Waterboys.

For Trevor, the announcement carries a personal significance.
“London’s live circuit was the perfect training ground,”
he said.
“Now we’re heading to Fields of Éire with a huge line-up, and we’re going there to put on a proper show.”
With two days of live music, culture and celebration ahead, Fields of Éire 2026 promises to be a standout event, with a touch of South London spirit firmly in the mix.
