LONDON — The need to support Palestinian children who have lost family members was among the humanitarian issues highlighted during the second day of London Halal Forum 2026.
H.E. Dr Husam Zomlot, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the United Kingdom, expressed appreciation for programmes dedicated to caring for Palestinian orphans during the Palestinian Breakfast held as part of the forum on 11 October.
His message focused on the importance of providing care, support and hope to children facing profound loss, while helping them build a future with dignity and opportunity.
For children who have lost parents and siblings, sustained support can be essential to meeting immediate needs and creating opportunities for education, personal development and long-term stability.
The discussion also highlighted the wider significance of initiatives that support vulnerable children. Beyond providing immediate assistance, such programmes can help strengthen families and communities and contribute to the future of Palestinian society.
The Palestinian Breakfast formed part of the wider programme of London Halal Forum 2026, held at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre on 10–11 October under the theme “Halal Tayyib for Humanity”.
The forum brought together international participants to discuss investment, trade, technology, tourism and cultural exchange, while selected sessions also provided opportunities to highlight humanitarian concerns.
The focus on Palestinian orphans demonstrated how gatherings that bring together business, civic and community representatives can provide a platform for discussing the needs of vulnerable populations.
Supporting children affected by conflict and family loss requires sustained commitment, coordinated assistance and opportunities that extend beyond immediate relief. Education, protection and long-term care are important elements in helping children rebuild their lives.
The message at the forum placed the welfare of Palestinian children within a broader discussion of human dignity, solidarity and responsibility towards future generations.
