What is the status of the £10million National Lottery prize in Bexley?

As reported by Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, the £10,633,323 National Lottery jackpot ticket purchased in Bexley on October 4 remains unclaimed. The ticket matched all six main numbers in the draw—6, 8, 12, 33, 49, and 59—but the person who bought it has yet to step forward to claim the prize. The identity of the winner remains a mystery, and the clock is ticking, as the claim period will expire on April 2, 2026.

  • Why is Allwyn urging players to check their tickets?
  • What recent National Lottery jackpots have been won in the UK?
  • How long do winners have to claim their National Lottery prizes?
  • What should potential winners do now?

Andy Carter told the media,

“This is a massive win for one lucky Londoner, so we urge Lotto players to check their tickets to see if they are our would-be multi-millionaire.”

He encouraged those who were “in and around Bexley in the week leading up to the 4 October draw” or who may have visited the area and purchased a ticket to double-check their belongings and tickets thoroughly.

Why is Allwyn urging players to check their tickets?

In a statement covered by various news outlets, Carter highlighted the importance of ticket holders carefully reviewing their tickets.

“Maybe it isn’t even a local winner – did you visit the area for the day and play Lotto – did you return home and stash it somewhere safe? Think back to where—as I want nothing more than to unite the winner with their prize money,” he explained.

He also imagined the impact of such a win on someone’s life:

“Imagine this sum of money in your bank account in the run up to Christmas—this is a massive jackpot and I can’t wait to meet the lucky ticket holder. Tell your friends, check your pockets, check your tickets as it could be you!”

What recent National Lottery jackpots have been won in the UK?

This unclaimed jackpot is part of a bumper period for the UK National Lottery. In the first two weeks of October 2025, there were two enormous EuroMillions jackpots won by UK players. On October 3, a single UK ticketholder won £26 million, and a week later on October 10, another person won £25 million. Additionally, just days after the Bexley £10 million win, a £2 million jackpot was claimed on October 8.

These recent large wins highlight a fruitful period for National Lottery players and underscore the tragedy should a winning ticket go unnoticed or unclaimed.

How long do winners have to claim their National Lottery prizes?

The ticket holder of the £10,633,323 jackpot purchased in Bexley has until April 2, 2026, to claim their prize. After this date, any unclaimed prize money will be forfeited. This deadline is consistent with National Lottery rules and applies to major prize winnings.

Andy Carter reiterated the urgency, reminding players that the prize money could significantly change someone’s life, particularly with the festive season approaching.

What should potential winners do now?

National Lottery officials, represented by Andy Carter, advise all Lotto players to thoroughly check their tickets, pockets, wallets, and any other places where tickets might have been stored. Players who purchased tickets in or around Bexley on or just before October 4 should be especially vigilant.

The National Lottery operator Allwyn will continue to publicise the win in the hope that the ticket holder comes forward before the deadline. The £10 million prize ranks among the largest unclaimed jackpots in the recent history of the National Lottery.
