Multi-award-winning soul artist and filmmaker Gina Sedman announces the release of Who’s Clyde (Original Soundtrack), a 12-track soul and funk album that forms the foundation of a unique dual-format project combining music and film.
Rooted in the rich textures of 1970s sound, the album serves as the official soundtrack to Sedman’s upcoming retro, family-friendly comedy-mystery film Who’s Clyde, with both releases designed to complement and elevate one another.
Led by the radio single “Who Is Clyde,” released on 1 May 2026, the album introduces a mysterious central figure whose presence is felt throughout both the music and the film. Structured in the style of a classic vinyl, the project unfolds across two distinct sides: Side F — Funk, which delivers bold, rhythmic, characterdriven tracks, and Side S — Soul, offering a more reflective and emotionally grounded listening experience. Across its 12 original songs, the album explores themes of identity, love, community, and transformation, blending infectious grooves with narrative depth.
What distinguishes Who’s Clyde is the way its music and film were created in tandem. Written and produced alongside the screenplay, the album directly informs the pacing, tone, and emotional arc of the film. The story follows two detectives investigating a growing neighbourhood legend surrounding a mysterious figure known only as Clyde, whose identity shifts with every retelling. This interplay between sound and story creates a cohesive world in which the music does not simply accompany the film, but actively drives it.
The project will roll out across a series of key dates, beginning with the lead single on 1 May 2026, followed by a VIP private listening party in London on 30 May 2026. The full album will be released exclusively on Bandcamp on 1 June 2026, with the film premiering shortly after on 7 June 2026 at The Reading Biscuit Factory in Reading, UK.
Entirely written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Gina Sedman, Who’s Clyde (Original Soundtrack) represents a fully independent artistic vision. The project also features contributions from Andrew Sedman on percussion, along with acclaimed musicians Robert “Peewee” Hill on bass and Michiko Hill on keys, helping to shape a warm, authentic sound grounded in classic soul and funk traditions.
At its core, Who’s Clyde is a celebration of music, storytelling, and community. With its nostalgic tone, vibrant character, and seamless blend of audio and visual storytelling, the project invites audiences to engage with the music, experience the film, and ultimately ask the question at the heart of it all — who is Clyde?
