  • Victim: Anthony Laskier, from Orpington.
  • Location: M25 near Junction 4.
  • Event: Inquest opened into his death.
  • Cause: Fatal incident on motorway.
  • Status: Official proceedings underway.
  • Context: Road traffic collision investigation.

Anthony Laskier’s BMW bike was “struck in the rear by a van” when he was riding on the congested freeway.

On December 17, at approximately 4:35 p.m., the collision with a white Ford Transit occurred close to Junction 4 of the orbital network.

After emergency personnel arrived, the busy route was stopped for eleven hours.

The 69-year-old Orpington resident died at the scene, according to later police confirmation.

An inquest investigating his death was held at Oakwood House in Maidstone today, January 9.

He died from “neck and chest injuries” when his bike was “struck in the rear by a van” in Bromley, according to local corner Katrina Hepburn, who testified during the inquiry.

Ms. Hepburn also stated that the entire inquiry has been put on hold for at least 28 days because of an ongoing police investigation.

Debbie Laskier, Anthony’s widow, had previously praised her husband, calling him a “beautiful soul.”

She said:

“Our hearts are broken as we share the loss of our beloved Anthony Laskier.

Tony was a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend whose kindness and laughter touched everyone who knew him.

Taken from us far too soon in a road traffic collision, his absence leaves an unimaginable void in our lives.

We ask for privacy as we grieve and remember the beautiful soul who brought so much love and joy to our world.

Forever in our hearts.”

What was the stated cause of death in the inquest opening?

No public records or recent reports detail any probe opening for Anthony Laskier’s death on the M25 near Junction 4, nor state a provisional cause of death at any opening hail.

UK coroners generally open studies within 1- 2 weeks of announcement for road losses, stating identification( formal via coming of kin or police), brief circumstances( e.g.,” single- vehicle collision” or”multi-car pile- up”), and provisional medical cause from posthumous( e.g.,” multiple traumatic injuries”.

Orpington( Bromley city) falls under Kent Coroner’s governance; Junction 4 crashes frequently cite high pets, wrong- way driving, or lorries( e.g., 2025 casualty criticized on fatigue). Absent specifics, common M25 verdicts include” road business collision” with narrative addenda on contributory factors like rainfall or mechanical failure.
